The World Rosary Day is receiving a significant new expression of support: the Pia Fondazione Journey to Redemption J2R (www.j2r.org), chaired by H.E.R. Mons. Mikel Garciandía Goñi, Bishop of Palencia, Spain, has formally joined and endorsed the World Rosary Day initiative.
In the letter addressed to the World Rosary Day team, Abp. Garciandía expressed his joy at seeing the Rosary growing as a source of Faith, Communion and Fraternity across the World. For the Foundation, World Rosary Day is much more than an event: it is a living response of love to the Virgin Mary and a powerful expression of a universal Church united in prayer. The Journey to Redemption Foundation heartily approves this mission, and wants to walk alongside it.
Journey to Redemption (J2R) is an international Catholic lay association preparing young adults for the great Jubilee of the Redemption in 2033, through a spiritual itinerary linking Rome 2025 – Santiago de Compostela 2027 – Jerusalem 2033. The initiative originated in Spain and has grown into an international project with hundreds of thousands members supported by dioceses, ecclesial movements and Episcopal Conferences.
Its vision is to rediscover pilgrimage as a path of faith, evangelization, healing and encounter with Christ, bringing together young faithful from different countries and cultures. The project has received significant international support and is being developed as a long-term journey toward 2033, the 2,000th anniversary of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.
As Abp. Mikel Garciandía writes: «We do not want to be mere admirers of your work; we want to walk with you», we entrust this journey to Mary, asking her to unite hearts, peoples and generations in prayer.
